When Does Lightyear Frontier 1.0 Release?

Lightyear Frontier version 1.0 officially releases on November 4, 2026. Developer FRAME BREAK and publisher Coffee Stain Publishing confirmed this date for both PC and Xbox Series X|S. This milestone marks the end of the Early Access phase and introduces the complete story finale for players.

Coffee Stain Publishing announced the launch date during the Big Break Showcase. Players retain all previous save files, allowing existing users to immediately access the newly added Sandswept Highlands and Hollow Marsh regions without restarting.


Farming and Automation Enhancements in the 1.0 Update

The transition to a full release brings substantial overhauls to core gameplay loops, specifically targeting agricultural efficiency and logistical automation. FRAME BREAK redesigned these systems to reward careful planning while accommodating casual playstyles.

The developer removed Automators entirely from the progression system. Players now use Automation Pipes directly connected to Storage Constructs. These storage units now feature outputs and Resource Filters, enabling automated crafting queues for up to three recipes simultaneously.

According to the official Steam update, the automation progression now begins earlier at Milestone 4. Farming also sees massive additions, including Seed Stacking and Fertilizer Infusers, which significantly increase crop yields.


Tool Upgrades and Animal Improvements

Navigating the alien landscape requires capable hardware, and the 1.0 patch integrates powerful secondary abilities directly into the tool upgrade paths. Exofarmers gain immediate access to these enhancements without relying on separate mod slots.

The Seed Shooter gains a Lock-On function and the highly anticipated Seed Shooter Minigun modification. The Spike Saw now features a continuous Sweep motion and targets specific Weak Points on environmental objects for massive damage bonuses.

Wildlife interaction also receives a major balancing pass. Farm animals no longer flee when unhappy, and feeding wild animals now guarantees an animal resource drop rather than a random regional item.

Normal eggs spawn daily near animal nests, simplifying resource gathering for advanced fertilizers. To reflect the comprehensive feature set, the retail price increases to $29.99/€29.99/£23.49.
