Grounded 2 Expands to PS5 as Into the Abyss Opens the Pond

Grounded fans are in for a big day on August 11, 2026 with a new platform and a brand-new area to explore.

First up, new platform. Grounded 2 is finally arriving on PlayStation 5 where it will launch in Early Access after spending the past year as an Xbox console exclusive. The game is also expanding its reach within the Game Pass community, becoming available to Game Pass Premium members on the same day. With full crossplay support, this game will surely be on the deck come game night.

Next up, the summer update. Launching alongside the PS5 version on August 11, the Into the Abyss update finally opens the pond, one of the most anticipated locations in Brookhollow Park.

As one of the largest additions to Grounded 2 so far, the new area introduces an entirely different environment with plenty of new places to explore both on the surface and under the water.

Exploring the pond comes with new progression systems too including diving gear that lets players remain underwater longer and reach areas that were previously inaccessible. Players will also encounter familiar creatures such as the koi fish and diving bell spider alongside new aquatic dangers. To make this new adventure more fun, the amphibious Toe-biter Buggy will be available, making traveling between land and water much easier.
