Rebel Wolves revealed The Blood of Dawnwalker PC requirements during the IGN Summer of Gaming 2026 window, and the brutal truth is not just RTX 5090 at 4K: even 1080p/60 High now asks for a serious GPU tier.
Rebel Wolves, the studio built by former Witcher 3 developers, has released official PC requirements for its Unreal Engine 5 vampire RPG after the IGN Summer of Gaming 2026 gameplay reveal. PC Gamer and GamingBolt both highlight the same uncomfortable detail: these targets are native, before DLSS, FSR or Frame Generation soften the blow. With Steam listing 69,99€, hardware budget matters before launch.
The Blood of Dawnwalker is an open-world dark fantasy action RPG set in 14th-century Europe. You play as Coen, human by day and vampire by night, fighting to save your family in a story shaped by your actions and the secrets you uncover. Compare The Blood of Dawnwalker deals
The Blood of Dawnwalker is a dark fantasy vampire RPG from Rebel Wolves, published by Bandai Namco, with a planned 3 September 2026 release. The new PC requirements are not shocking because one luxury preset mentions RTX 5090. They are shocking because 1080p/60 High already lands in RTX 5060 or RX 6800 XT territory.
This is less about outrage and more about where Unreal Engine 5 is pushing PC gaming as a whole. Native rendering is still the truest benchmark, but it also shows how quickly High settings are moving beyond mid-range GPU reach.
Native Rendering Is the Real Monster Here
Rebel Wolves published these targets without upscaling or Frame Generation factored in. That honesty shows what the game demands from raw hardware, and it’s brutal, because native 60 FPS at High is now well beyond entry-level GPU territory.
That does not prove bad optimization. Unreal Engine 5 can push heavy lighting, dense scenes, detailed materials and expensive post-processing before any performance tech enters the picture. TechRaptor also notes that DLSS and FSR support should help, but those features change the experience rather than erase the native cost.
Why Your PC May Suffer Before the Vampire Does
At minimum, The Blood of Dawnwalker targets 1080p/30 on Low with an i7-8700K or Ryzen 7 3700X, plus RTX 3050, GTX 1070, RX Vega 56 or Intel Arc A580 class graphics. It also asks for 16GB RAM and a 60GB SSD, which keeps the floor reasonable but not especially old-PC friendly.
The jump comes at 1080p/60 High: Core i5-13600 or Ryzen 9 7900X, RTX 5060 or RX 6800 XT, and 12GB VRAM. For 1440p/60 High, the target rises to RTX 4070 Ti or RX 7800 XT. Ultra 1440p/60 asks for RTX 4080 or RX 7900 XTX, while Ultra 4K/60 names RTX 5090 with 16GB VRAM.
The Bigger UE5 Question: Is Native 4K Becoming a Luxury Setting?
The Blood of Dawnwalker sits at the center of a wider PC debate: native 4K now looks more like a luxury showcase setting than a standard target. UE5 games can still scale down, but their top presets increasingly demand showcase-grade hardware rather than serving the average player.
That shift makes DLSS, FSR and Frame Generation feel less optional than they used to. They can make a demanding game practical, especially at 1440p and 4K, but players should understand what is being recovered. Think of the native spec as the full price, and upscaling as the discount that makes it affordable.
PC Hardware Check: Don’t Let the Upgrade Eat the Whole Budget
If your PC needs more RAM, a larger SSD or a GPU jump before launch, do not treat the game price as fixed. Use the The Blood of Dawnwalker price comparison page to check live AKS offers before paying official-store price.
CD-key offers are not automatically cheaper than Steam, so compare editions, coupons, seller ratings and activation rules before buying. Use region filters like Europe or Global, confirm activation region, and don’t let a GPU upgrade eat your entire game budget.
