Almost three years after the original game ended active development, Mojang is officially back in the hack-and-slash business. The studio revealed Minecraft Dungeons 2 during the March 2026 Minecraft Live broadcast.

Co-developed with Double Eleven, the sequel builds directly on the Diablo-lite formula that made the first entry a massive, 25-million-player success.

The original was praised for its accessible multiplayer, and the sequel doubles down on that cooperative core. Up to four players can team up to farm gear, defeat hordes of mobs, and clear out entire maps.
