Timberborn 1.0: Full Release Date and New Features Announced

After five years of “lumberpunk” evolution, the world’s premier beaver city-builder is ready to shed its Early Access skin as Timerborn 1.0 launches on March 5, 2026.

Timberborn 1.0: Full Release Date and New Features Announced.

When Timberborn first splashed onto the scene in 2021, it was a quirky indie project about dam-building rodents and survival. Today, it stands as a titan of the genre, boasting an “Overwhelmingly Positive” reputation and a community that has redefined what “building up” really means.

The transition to 1.0 on March 5, 2026, isn’t just a ceremonial label, but the culmination of years of massive updates that transformed a simple survival game into a complex simulation of verticality and physics-based water management.

Timberborn Lore and Cinematic Trailer

The 1.0 update introduces an official lore trailer narrated by Shaun Dooley (Elden Ring), which now serves as the game’s introductory cinematic. It sets the stakes: humanity has fallen, the world is a toxic wasteland, and your beaver colony is the last chance for a living ecosystem.

Since 2021, developer Mechanistry has been busy. We’ve seen the introduction of toxic “badwater,” the 3D physics overhaul that made water feel alive, and the rise of automated beaver bots.

What’s New in Timberborn 1.0?

The 1.0 build is the definitive “premium” package. Mechanistry is finally introducing the legendary Spiral Staircases, a compact vertical solution that veteran players have been begging for since day one. No more bulky ramps eating up your precious real estate.

But it’s not just about stairs. The endgame is getting a massive injection of depth with Geothermal Engines and Aquifer Drills. You’ll be tapping into the earth’s heat for renewable power and drilling for water sources to survive the harshest droughts.

There are also two brand-new maps, Pressure and Oasis, designed to test your engineering limits with underground water flows and explosive hazards. It’s a complete rethink of how you manage a colony from the first log to the final Wonder.

For the achievement hunters out there, 1.0 officially brings Steam Achievements to the table, along with a total UI overhaul and significantly faster load times.

The game feels snappier, looks better with updated lighting, and finally tells a cohesive story through its new opening cinematic.

Is Timberborn 1.0 Worth It?

If you haven’t picked this up yet, the 1.0 launch is the perfect excuse to dive in. Timberborn has always been one of the most stable and feature-rich Early Access titles on the market, and the 1.0 build feels like a true “complete” game rather than just another patch.

Are you planning to start a fresh colony on March 5, or are you sticking with your current megacity?
