IO Interactive recently published 007 First Light’s PC system requirements as we’re getting closer to its release in May. However, fans immediately flagged some inconsistencies which proved to be correct. IO Interactive acknowledged the issue and has now issued an updated PC specs.

007 First Light is back in the headlines as it has drawn attention to what many players see as major inconsistencies in the game’s published PC requirements particularly on the recommended side.
Fans quickly pointed out that the specs list an RTX 3060 Ti alongside a 12GB VRAM recommendation, despite the 3060 Ti being an 8GB card, with similar contradictions appearing in the minimum requirements as well.
Other points of confusion include vague “Intel equivalent” GPU listings, GPUs that do not meet the stated VRAM thresholds, and a recommendation of 32GB of system RAM for 1080p at 60fps. All in all, these issues have led players to question whether the requirements were poorly vetted, auto-generated, or based on outdated performance assumptions.
The overall response has been sharply critical with much of the conversation framed around concerns over optimization and affordability. Many Redditors argue that such high requirements suggest heavy reliance on upscaling technologies rather than efficient performance, while others note that visually superior games run on far more modest hardware.
Because of this, IO Interactive took a step back and reviewed the requirements. From here, they saw the inconsistencies and have published an updated PC system requirements.

According to the team, it was “due to internal miscommunication” and that additional performance targets will be shared as we come closer to launch day.
007 First Light will officially release on May 27th, 2026 for PC, Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
