New World Aeternum Ends With Season 10, What Happens Now?
New World Aeternum ends with Season 10: Nighthaven. No new updates planned, but servers and events stay online until at least 2026.
Just after Amazon announced another round of layoffs, its MMORPG New World Aeternum also revealed that the recently launched Season 10 Nighthaven is the last content update for the game. So what does this mean to current players and can new gamers still buy and download it?
New World Aeternum Season 10 Is Last Content Update
Tough times continue to loom over the gaming industry. It’s been a wild year for game releases but we also saw a massive purge in the workforce. The last on the chopping block? New World Aeternum team. While the game isn’t shutting down (yet) and there was no explicit statement about the team’s dissolution, although that can be deduced, no new update will be released moving forward.
New World Aeternum officially concludes with Season 10, released on October 13. As a thank-you to the community, both this update and Rise of the Angry Earth are now free for all players. Along with the base game, these will remain online until further notice or at least through 2026. Although no new content is planned, a support team will remain active to address bugs and crashes.
The game also remains available in the PS Plus Game Catalog for Extra and Premium members. It will continue to be downloadable from the service until further notice. And since no end date was announced, all in-game currency can still be purchased and used.
As for the events, World bosses, bonus weeks, and some seasonal events will continue. Only the holiday events have ceased.

While it’s not shutting down yet, it’s pretty much on life support. And everyone knows that as soon as the content dries up, players will slowly lose interest, and before we know it, it’s sunsetting. It will be interesting to see how this will pan out next year since New World Aeternum is a paid online-only game. And when the time comes, can Stop Killing Games save it?
