SEGA is not done getting fans excited for Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties release on February 12th. If you’ve been following the updates, you probably already linked your account to your platform for the free skin. And you probably also know that a demo is coming out. Well, today’s the day.

 

Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties Demo Launches January 21st

Just a few days ago, PlaystationBlog teased that Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties will be getting a demo. No date or specifics were revealed then but now we know why. It’s not quite a shadowdrop but it’s definitely short notice. Turns out, the public demo will launch later today for PC and consoles.

The Steam demo will unlock on January 21st at 1AM PT / 10AM ET / 3PM GMT, while the console version is on January 21st at 9PM PT or January 22nd 12MN ET / 5AM GMT.

The demo will be available on all consoles the game is launching on including PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Fans will be able to play both games, and while the demo likely reflects the final version already given how close it is to launch, progress will not carry over to the full game.

   

SEGA didn’t share if this was a timed demo or if it will include a tutorial. All that was revealed is what to expect in both games:

  • In Yakuza Kiwami 3, players can explore Ryukyu, Okinawa as Kazuma Kiryu, beating down bad guys while dynamically switching between Kiryu’s brutal Dragon of Dojima: Kiwami and weapon-based Ryukyu styles and indulging in immersive side experiences like karaoke, sub-stories, outfit customization and more.
  • In Dark Ties, players can enjoy a slice of the all-new story featuring Yoshitaka Mine, exploring Kamurocho and variety of side experiences while also sinking their teeth into Mine’s shoot-boxing combat to stylishly dispose of foes.

While we wait for the demo to unlock, we can expect an official announcement with more details within the day.
