It’s time to rally behind the games that made your 2025. From the titles you sank dozens of hours into to the surprise hits you can’t stop recommending, show these games the support they deserve by nominating them in The Steam Awards 2025.

 

The Steam Awards 2025 Nominations End Today

While we are almost unbearably excited for The Game Awards on the 11th, especially thanks to Geoff Keighley and the mystery statue, let’s not forget that its quirkier, less formal, but as exciting sister, The Steam Awards, is also on the horizon.

Nominations are already open, and if you haven’t backed your favorite 2025 releases yet, now’s the time. Voting closes today at 10AM PT / 1PM ET / 6PM GMT, so head to The Steam Awards nominations page and lock in your picks for all 11 categories including Game of the Year, Best Game on Steam Deck, and the always-humbling Best Game You Suck At Award.

One of the most interesting categories is the Labor of Love Award as it’s meant for older titles which are still getting new content and still relevant amidst the many high calibre releases this year. Games which have been around a year or more, or those released prior to 2024’s Autumn Sale are eligible, with the exception of previous winners like Elden Ring and Red Dead Redemption 2. Top picks for 2025 we’ve gathered so far are No Man’s Sky, Lords of the Fallen, and Vampire Survivors. All. Great. Games.

   

Finalists will be revealed during Steam’s Winter Sale, when the next voting phase kicks off. And like last year, winners will be announced as soon as we step into the new year, when the fireworks are over but never the festivities. The Steam Awards winners will be announced on January 3 at 10AM PT / 1PM ET / 6PM GMT.

It will be interesting to see how The Game Awards GOTY winner will do for The Steam Awards too. Unless of course it’s like last year when Astro Bot, a PS5 exclusive, won TGA 2024 and obviously not part of Steam’s catalog.
