Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition Rated in Korea Ahead of Its Reveal

Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition appears on a Korean rating board, sparking confusion as Sega has yet to reveal details or confirm it.

Sonic fans have something new to look forward to as Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition was spotted in a ratings board in Korea. Yep, the same game which was only released over 3 years ago.

Fans are very excited but very confused too as a “new” Sonic release has surfaced, thanks to Gematsu who saw Sonic Frontiers Definitive Edition published in The Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea. Prior to this discovery, Sega had no announcement nor hints about this version of the game. No fans would have expected it too since definitive editions are usually reserved for older titles and Sonic Frontiers only released at the end of 2022.

What’s even more confusing is that it’s a definitive edition. Normally we get this at a higher price due to modern improvements plus bundled up with all post-launch DLC, which in this case were all released as free updates.

Naturally, that’s led to more questions. Will there be a new story content or just an updated version? How much will it cost and will there be an upgrade path? Maybe it’s the Switch 2 version? Who knows.

Now that the cat is out of the bag, hopefully Sega comes out and gives us more information about this release. It normally doesn’t take long before an announcement is made once the game is rated.

Sonic Frontiers originally launched on November 8, 2022 for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The game is currently 70% off on Steam and Playstation Store.
