The Skywind team is celebrating Halloween by dropping a new trailer with a spooky vibe for the fan project overhauling Morrowind in Skyrim.
Skywind is the total overhaul project bringing The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind back to life in the famous open world of the latest game in the series, The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim. It’s one of the many fan projects for the series and among the most famous, born in 2012 as part of the TES Renewal Initiative.
It kicked off right with the release of Bethesda’s Creation Kit that same year, giving modders the creative space with Bethesda’s own toolset. This project stands alongside Skyblivion as one of the most anticipated total overhauls by fans of the series.

Skywind: A Spooky Morrowind to Celebrate Halloween
After the extensive gameplay showcase in May 2025, the Skywind team is back in the spotlight with a new video. Released on October 31, 2025, this new trailer is dedicated to the Skyrim total overhaul that brings TES III: Morrowind to life.
It’s a Halloween-themed video, with a showcase featuring a darker filter for the island of Vvardenfell, also known as the Black Isle. It shows us an even spookier version of the island, including some locations and, above all, the fierce enemies that await.
What’s the Latest on the Skywind Mod Project?
A fun video to celebrate Halloween, but also to show the team’s progress with a showcase focused on one of Morrowind‘s largest islands. Progress seems to be moving along nicely, with a Developer Q&A held on October 27. There, Magicka Addict got to interview DalSifoDiyas (2D Lead) and Argyle (lead writer and voice actor), who talked about their very first experiences with the series.
But with a special focus on creating 2D concept art. With various examples of the complete creation of new textures, models, and “flair.” Adding a unique touch to small details and unique models for various “clutter” items for each main area. The plan for 2025 sees the 2D team practically finished with their work, while the 3D team is busy with the creation of the final game. With confirmation that the Bloodmoon DLC is coming, although post-launch.
Skywind lead developers for 2D and Writing, DalSifoDyas and Argyle, recently joined @MagickaAddict for an interview, discussing 2D development and giving a glimpse into our concept art and how it helps shape the final product in game.

In Conclusion
Skywind won’t be released in 2025, but the fan project is at a great point in development. The team is always looking for new volunteers to complete the project. With confirmation from the team that they want to deliver the entire complete experience, including the Bloodmoon DLC. Although they confirm it won’t significantly alter the story and content of the DLC.
