Side Effects, the Russian Roulette of pharma drugs, has crossed 10K copies sold just 2 days after launch.

One such example is Side Effects. It launched on November 21 and as of yesterday, it already sold 10k copies.

The game participated in Steam Next Fest last month with an updated demo which was initially released in early October. The demo featured a solo player mode, and by the time it launched, the team was able to add a 4-player multiplayer mode.

While there are quality of life improvements and bug fixes that need to be made, overall, it’s a great game. It’s unique and intensely fun, plus you don’t feel ripped off as the price is perfect. Even more so now as Steam is offering a launch discount of 15% until December 6th.

Side Effects is a tense, turn-based survival game framed as a twisted medical trial for up to four players. Each round, you’re handed a set of pills and forced to choose what to take without knowing the outcome. Some boost you, some cripple you, and some can kill you instantly. The goal is simple, outlast everyone else at the table by surviving dose after dose.

The core system revolves around resistance since your shrinking lifeline is affected by every pill you consume. Basically, hit zero and you’re done. Between rounds you can pick experimental items and treatments like vaccines or restraint tools that bend the odds in your favor and add a layer of strategy beyond pure luck.

The game is available to play solo or up to 4 players with the multiplayer mode. It features 15+ unique items and 6 pill types to test.
