Resident Evil Survival Unit: New Mobile Game Announced – Release, Gameplay, and All the Details
The popular Resident Evil franchise is expanding once again. Right now, of course, we are all waiting for Resident Evil Requiem. But even before that, we will get a small new game for our mobile devices. The new title is called Resident Evil Survival Unit. It is being developed by Aniplex, Capcom, and JOYCITY, who want to combine the franchise’s survival roots with strategy gameplay.
Resident Evil Survival Unit was officially announced in July 2025, and the game is launching in just a few days. It aims to give players the chance to experience Raccoon City in a completely new way. Resident Evil Survival Unit Story and Setting

You can simply click here. The story takes place in the area of iconic Raccoon City. It focuses on special units fighting the spread of bioweapons.
Compared to the main games, you don’t control a single protagonist from a first- or third-person perspective. Instead, you coordinate a team of elite agents who battle the bioweapons.
Resident Evil Survival Unit Gameplay and Features
The game combines real-time strategy with the typical survival horror elements. You will need to assemble a squad and plan missions against the various threats in Raccoon City. Not everything about the gameplay has been revealed yet, but it is already confirmed that you will control multiple units at once.
The battles will be tactical and take place in real time, marking a first for Resident Evil on mobile devices. You will also need to manage resources and strategically position your troops. So there will be a mix of classic Resident Evil atmosphere and modern mobile gaming. According to the developers, the atmosphere and the struggle for survival will be the main focus.
Development and Partnerships
The project Resident Evil Survival Unit is backed by several well-known developers and publishers. Aniplex is acting as the publisher, Capcom is providing the license and ensuring creative oversight, and JOYCITY is developing the game. They are known for mobile strategy hits like Pirates of the Caribbean: Tides of War.
Release and Platforms
Resident Evil Survival Unit will be released globally for iOS and Android. Unfortunately, there is no exact release date yet, but on July 10, 2025, a major online showcase will be held on YouTube. There, the developers plan to show gameplay for the first time, reveal more story details, and announce the official release window.
