MARVEL Tokon Fighting Souls is one of the most awaited launches this year and one of the titles rumored to be featured in the upcoming Playstation State of Play. But it looks like we already know what awaits us as someone from the team hit ‘Published’ too early, revealing launch details not previously announced.

Spotted by Wario64, MARVEL Tokon Fighting Souls Steam page was briefly updated to include more details on what to expect when it launches. Before you go on the page itself, do know that it has been reverted back and does not contain the new information. Luckily, Wario64 was able to screenshot it before it disappeared.

Arc System Work’s upcoming fighting game is now known to launch with 20 playable characters, 8 of which have now been officially revealed. Included in the roster are some of Marvel most popular characters:
- Captain America (Steve Rogers)
- Doctor Doom
- Ghost Rider (Robbie Reyes)
- Iron Man
- Ms. Marvel (Kamala Khan)
- Spider-Man (Peter Parker)
- Star-Lord
- Storm
The remaining 12 are speculated to be revealed closer to launch date, which unfortunately wasn’t part of the update.
Also revealed were the single-player Episode Mode and the 64-player lobby at launch. The latter will require a Playstation account to participate which, of course, was met with some resistance from PC players. But some were also quick to point out that it was to be expected since the game is under Playstation Publishing.
But the most chatter revolved around the 20-character launch roster. At face value it seems ok but then when you think about its 4v4 format, it feels a bit thin. In comparison to other fighting games, Street Fighter 6 launched with 18 but it’s 1v1, Dragon Ball Fighterz launched with 24 and it’s 3v3, and Fatal Fury City of the Wolves launched with 17 but also 1v1. So the sentiment is warranted.
Maybe now that they get a general feel on player feedback, it changes. Time will tell so for now, let’s hope the State of Play, happening on February 12th, can shed some light.
