Full Metal Schoolgirl – Yuke’s New Anime Shooter Unveiled
With a surprise reveal on 1 July 2025, the team at Yuke’s and publisher D3 unveiled Full Metal Schoolgirl for the first time. A wacky, action-packed third-person shooter in an anime style. Announced to be coming to PS5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC on 23 October 2025. The announcement was accompanied by the official trailer.
Taking us to the year 2089 in the United Federation of Japan, where as two schoolgirls turned into Cyborgs, we’ll have to climb the Meternal Jobz building. Full Metal Schoolgirl: What We Know So Far
As D3 Publisher itself confirms, FMS presents itself as a fun mix between the ranged combat of Earth Defense Force and the melee combat of OneeChanbara. All of this is accompanied by a humorous and parodic take on Japanese work culture. Overall, it offers:
- Mission: As the JK machine girls Akemi and Ryoko, we’ll have to climb the 100 floors of the Meternal Jobz skyscraper. Sowing destruction and chaos against the cyborg-workers enslaved by the system, as well as security systems, traps, and bosses.
- Gameplay: A roguelike style where if you’re defeated, you’ll start over from the first floor, losing weapons and equipment. But you’ll be able to upgrade the basic skills of the cyborg-streamer girls by using over 100 weapons and equipment, and donations from the livestream.
The team also announces that pre-orders for the game are live starting today, 2 July. With a Deluxe Edition that offers various costumes, including those of Saki and Aya from OneeChanbara Origin (Early Deluxe Bonus). And the pre-order bonus for the Standard Edition includes the Furball and “Now I’m Pissed Cat” accessories in 3 color variations. As confirmed on the PlayStation Blog.
