LORT is the action roguelite fantasy from the team at Big Distraction. A development team based in North Carolina founded by industry veterans, notably Shak Khavarian and Zack Estep. The two former Marketing Lead and Lead Producer of Fortnite. The duo left Epic Games in early 2023 and founded their new studio.

Returning in 2025 with the announcement of LORT, with a development team of about 11 members from Blizzard, Dice and MachineGames. Bringing a colorful roguelite fantasy with a strong humorous tone, and most importantly designed for co-op play. LORT: A New Fantasy Co-op Roguelite Announced

With a surprise announcement on May 27th, 2025, LORT was revealed. A new co-op fantasy roguelite from the team at Big Distraction. A development team led by Shak Khavarian and Zack Estep, two key figures from Epic Games who left the company in 2023 to form a new team and create a new project, now realized as LORT.

Accompanied by a Trailer Reveal showcasing the chaotic fantasy world of LORT. A world where, with our friends, we’ll face various enemies and plenty of loot to find. All with a colorful tone that doesn’t take itself too seriously, with powerful yet improbable weapons. The game is slated for Q4 2025 launch.

LORT: What We Know About Big Distraction’s Debut Title

LORT presents itself as a fun roguelike adventure primarily designed for playing with friends. The game’s development began in 2023 and is ideally set to launch by the end of 2025. The team has shared some key details about the game, which include:

• Co-op up to 8 players: You can play solo or in co-op mode with up to 8 players. Expect powerful combos and allies to cover your back, or prepare for a chaotic race.
• Weapons and Power-ups: A wide variety of weapons at your disposal, from swords and bows to trusty pistols. Switch weapons on the fly, plus bizarre power-ups for fun combinations.
• Huge Bosses: Massive bosses will test your skills. Use their weaknesses and patterns to overpower them.
• Choose Your Run: Each run features different missions, locations, and enemies. Making every session unique.
