Fatal Frame 2 Crimson Butterfly Remake is right around the corner and while it’s not a long wait anymore, fans will not have to wait even until launch to step back into it. Koei Tecmo has confirmed that a demo is on the way giving players an early taste of what’s to come, alongside the announcement of a major crossover with one of the most influential horror franchises of all time, Silent Hill.

Koei Tecmo and Team Ninja have given Fatal Frame fans another dose of excitement by sharing important new details about the upcoming Fatal Frame 2 Crimson Butterfly Remake alongside a brand-new trailer. The announcement sheds more light on what players can expect in the lead-up to launch while also teasing some surprises beyond the core game.

A demo for Fatal Frame 2 Crimson Butterfly Remake has been officially confirmed and will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. While specific details about what the demo will include have not yet been shared, it has been confirmed that all save data can be carried over to the full game. Additional information about the demo is expected to be revealed closer to the its launch.

Preorders for the game are now live with both Standard and Deluxe Editions available. Those who preorder the game before launch will receive a preorder bonus set, while an early purchase bonus set will be available too up until March 25.

Both bonus sets include head/hair accessories, costumes, and charms. The cosmetics can be available in the game at a later date, whether for free or sold separately, while the effects of the charms can be obtained naturally as players progress. So it’s not the end of the world but getting access to them early is a nice bonus for those jumping in right away.

One of the more surprising (and exciting!) announcement is a collaboration with Silent Hill f. While details are limited for now, Koei Tecmo has confirmed that a special crossover will take place across both games and will include a free costume DLC.
