EA Sports FC 26 is the 2025 edition of the famous annual video game event for professional soccer. The EA Sports title is at the center of tons of rumors and potential leaks, including a rumored Open World mode. EA FC 26: Release Date & Editions

EA FC 26 once again keeps its can’t-miss date as the pro soccer video game. Returning with the 2025 Edition for a September launch window, as is tradition. More specifically on 26 September 2025 with 2 Editions:

  • Standard: Base game and Pre-Order Bonus
  • Ultimate Edition: Base game, Ultimate Team Bonus Pack, and Early Access

And it’s the Ultimate Edition that brings the definitive FC 26 experience. Offering tons of extra content like 6000 FC Points for 2 Months, the Season 1 Premium Pass, and 7-day Early Access starting from 19 September. Platforms – Where Can You Play FC 26?

This year, in particular, we have a new lineup for EA’s soccer series, debuting for the first time on the new Nintendo Switch 2. Nintendo’s newcomer looks to offer an even more authentic experience thanks to the new hardware. So, it’s available on:

  • PC: Steam, Epic Games Store, and EA App
  • Playstation 5 and Playstation 4
  • Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S

The price for the game editions is set at: Standard for €/$69.99 and Ultimate for €/$99.99. The Standard edition is available in a Physical format, but the price and platform availability will vary by region. And unfortunately, the Switch 2 version comes as a Game Key Card format.

So we recommend checking the editions and prices for your region. Especially if you’re interested in the Physical Editions, as some Additional Content, Collectibles, or the Pre-Order Bonus may vary.

 

Leagues, Clubs, and Licenses in FC 26

The new edition brings the updated lineup of clubs, licenses, and leagues. With the vast majority of EA FC 25 licenses also confirmed for 26, including the ever-present Premier League, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, and many others, for example:

  • England: Premier League, FA Cup, WSL
  • Germany: Bundesliga, Frauen-Bundesliga
  • United States: MLS, NWSL
  • Switzerland: Super League (FC Basel, Young Boys)
  • And over 25 National Championships

Plus the rumored return of Liga MX (Mexico), which seems to still be in negotiations and not yet confirmed by EA. Meanwhile, this year we also see a welcome expansion of the Women’s Soccer League with new Squads and National Teams.

 

Who’s on the Cover of EA FC 26?

One of the great traditions of the EA soccer series is definitely the cover star. With the big return of English star Jude Bellingham. The second year in a row for the champ as the youngest cover star in the series. But surprisingly, he shares the Standard Edition Cover with former teammate Jamal Musiala.

With Competitive Play mode, ideal for online matches, and Authentic Play, optimized for offline matches with a realistic touch. To which numerous features are also added, for example:

  • Football Ultimate Team: Tournaments are back with a rework of Rivals and Champs without Play-Offs. Enjoy direct qualification, new cuts, and limited checkpoints. And the new Gauntlet to test your team in up to 5 matches, choosing a different squad for each face-off.
  • Career Mode: With managers controlled by an even more advanced AI. Plus new advanced tools like the Manager Market, which offers a real market for Managers, with removals, acquisitions from other clubs, or even retirement. And a simulation complete with players’ historical data.
  • Gameplay Improvements: With hundreds of new, smoother, and more detailed animations. A result of the new changes made to the “Gameplay fundamentals,” with AI actions being more responsive and consistent. All thanks to the use of TRACAB tech for unparalleled realism.
