Bandai Namco confirms two free updates and a major DLC for Dragon Ball Sparking Zero in 2026, adding new modes, characters, and content.
Bandai Namco and Spike Chunsoft have announced that new content and features are coming to Dragon Ball Sparking Zero this year. Two free updates, one of which is now available, plus a major DLC are confirmed.
Dragon Ball Sparking Zero Free Updates
Great start of the year for Dragon Ball Sparking Zero fans as Bandai released the game’s 2026 roadmap showing 2 free updates and a major DLC. All these are dropping from today until sometime in summer which is great news as there could be more in the second half of the year.
The first free update was released just after the announcement which added “Mission 100.” This introduces a new single-player experience that allows players to use their favorite character to clear missions. According to Spike Chunsoft, it’s a simple mode which focuses more on variety, and that it will appeal to longtime fans since it’s reminiscent of Dragon Ball Z Budokai Tenkaichi 3.
The second free update, which will drop in Spring, will add the Survival Mode. This will be more fast-paced and endurance-centered as players will have to defeat multiple enemies one after the other.
As seen in the roadmap, these updates (and even the DLC) are only for PC, Playstation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The Nintendo consoles still have some catching up to do so instead of these, it will be character DLC drops for now which were all previously added to the other consoles.
Dragon Ball Sparking Zero 2026 Major DLC
So Q1 and Q2 are already sorted but Bandai has more in store for fans this year. A bigger drop of content will be launched this summer and will introduce new playable characters, costumes, new battle attacks, new stages, and a brand-new game mode.
The DLC does not have a title yet but a teaser trailer was released to get fans excited. Among the confirmed inclusions are characters Super Android 17, King Piccolo, and Super Saiyan Bardock, and Gohan’s childhood outfit.
Dragon Ball Sparking ZERO is now available on PC, Playstation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2.
