Disney removes 15 more classic titles from Steam, including iconic Star Wars games. See which titles have vanished in this latest purge.
Disney is back at it with another quiet cleanup on Steam pulling a batch of older titles from the storefront without much warning. This marks the company’s second delisting wave this year following a similar move earlier this year. While delistings tied to licensing and remasters aren’t unusual, the way Disney went about the delisting is worth reporting.
Disney Mass Delisting on Steam
Who would have thought that Disney had more games to delist this time of the year after that quiet purge back in January. Just like before, this one is another sizable sweep with 15 titles in total covering a mix of classic Disney games along with a couple of Star Wars entries.
There wasn’t any official heads-up, no farewell post, and no last-minute sale to send these games off. If it weren’t for SteamDB tracking by Polygon, most players probably wouldn’t have noticed they were gone from the store.
The good news is that they are still floating around on key seller stores. You need to act fast though as once these sellers get wind of the news, the prices will inevitably go up.
As for why they were taken down, it likely comes down to expired licensing agreements. It also isn’t a coincidence that the list includes the original versions of games that were recently remastered, specifically Star Wars: Dark Forces and the classic 1997 shooter Outlaws.
Here’s all 15 that were recently delisted on Steam:
- High School Musical 3: Senior Year Dance
- Disney Pixar Brave: The Video Game
- Disney’s Bolt
- Disney’s Treasure Planet: Battle of Procyon
- Disney Alice in Wonderland
- Disney’s Chicken Little
- Disney’s Tangled
- Disney G Force
- Disney Universe
- Disney Princess: My Fairytale Adventure
- Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End
- Planet of the Apes: Last Frontier
- STAR WARS Rebellion
- STAR WARS Dark Forces (Classic, 1995)
- Outlaws + A Handful of Missions (Classic, 1997)
It is hard to say if a purge like this will happen again soon, as it is too early to establish a definitive pattern. Still, if you are eyeing an older Disney game that you haven’t picked up yet, make sure to check out before the next quarter begins just to be safe.
