Cast n Chill (CnC) is a 2D fishing game developed by the Wombat Brawler team. A small Australian development team founded in 2021 by the duo of Brendan Watts behind the Ski Safari mobile series, and Mark White, creator of Agent A: A Puzzle in Disguise and Down in Bermuda.
Wombat Brawler is debuting with their first PC project, CnC. A fishing adventure that offers a relaxing experience among welcoming landscapes. After revealing the game in early February, the team at Wombat Brawler is finally ready for the launch of Cast n Chill. The cozy fishing sim marks the debut of their first title. Available today, June 16, 2025 on Steam, just in time for the Steam Fishing Fest.
Launch date revealed on June 3, 2025 along with the game trailer, taking us on a charming 2D fishing adventure with a retro-pixel style. We’ll be able to relax in various locations surrounded by nature. With a gameplay loop where we can sell our fishing haul for new lures and upgrades.
Cast n Chill: Gameplay and Main Features
CnC offers a charming fishing experience with a relaxing gameplay, paired with a 2D pixel style that has a pastel touch to the landscapes. The game will offer the following:
- Explore New Areas: 13 different locations to discover, each with various fish species and landscapes waiting for you.
- Upgrade Your Gear: Sell your catch to Rusty and buy new lures and upgrades to attract rarer fish.
- Choose How to Play: With an option for active or passive gameplay. Let it run in idle mode while you do other things.
- Lots of Fish to Catch: With 50 fish species to find and add to your logbook, including 13 legendary fish with quirky backstories.
