If you want to play mulitplayer, Xbox Gold is mandatory so it is really nice to be able to save quite some money on it. However if you are an Xoxx player I strongly recommend buying the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, which includes Xbox Gold plus all the advantages of the Xbox Game Pass.
If you are unsure you want to continue using the service, you can buy a 2 day trial for less than a euro. Worth a try!
I remember using gold back in the days of the XBOX 360. Good days for sure ^^ But! Now I think I'd get the gamepass ultimate instead. It has XBOX Live Gold included and it is not much of a difference in price
