Battlefield 6 Season 2 has been delayed to February 17, with Season 1 extended through a January 20 update that adds rewards.
Battlefield fans will be waiting a little longer for Season 2 as EA and Battlefield Studios have officially confirmed the delay. The upside is it’s only been pushed back by about a month and Season 1 is being extended with an update that brings some extra bonus content.
Battlefield 6 Season 1 and Console Launch Times
Season 2 was originally set to launch on January 20 but EA and Battlefield Studios have decided to push it back to February 17. According to the official announcement, the delay comes from a continued review of community feedback and a desire to spend more time polishing Season 2 before it goes live.
The studio further said that extending Season 1 allows them to stay aligned with what players have been asking for while making sure the next season launches in a better state.

January 20 is still an important date though as that is when the Season 1 extension update will arrive. This update expands the current season rather than replacing it, giving players more to do while waiting for Season 2. The extension adds an extra Bonus Path, highlights Portal Community Experiences, introduces several Double XP periods, and brings free daily login rewards.
While the extension update goes live on the 20th, the new Bonus Path called Frostfire, will launch on January 27. It will introduce new customization rewards like a Weapon Package, a Soldier Skin, and XP Boosts.
There are also some free rewards which include a Hardware XP Boost, a Vehicle Skin, and player card customization items. Players who own the Battle Pass will also unlock a Weapon Package, a Career XP Boost, and additional cosmetic items.
Frostfire progression runs alongside the Season 1 Battle Pass so players can work on both at the same time. EA says it takes 110 Bonus Path points to fully complete and points will be earned through weekly challenges instead of Bonus Challenges which is a small shift from how previous Bonus Paths were handled.
