SAND is the new PvP Survival experience from the team at Hologryph. A Ukrainian development team founded in 2016 that is presenting the team’s first major project. Created in collaboration with TowerHaus and published by tinyBuild Games. The title was first announced at the PC Game Show in June 2023.
Taking us to the steampunk alternate reality of 1910, where the Austro-Hungarian inhabitants are returning to the Sophie desert, rich with resources and treasures. SAND: August Playtest Announced
Following the late-March announcement of the delay of SAND’s Early Access date, the team at Hologryph and tinyBuild are back with new updates. Announcing in the recent Dev Update on July 18, 2025, the new Playtest is coming in August.
An update that the team accompanies with a video full of new development details. With new balancing and changes made over the last 3 months of development. Showing off the new features and leaving us with the fantastic news of a Playtest coming in August on Steam.

SAND – The Latest Development News
With the new Dev Log, the team describes the new features implemented in SAND. Thanks in part to feedback and suggestions from the community. The new features include:
- Trampler: New additions and balancing of compartments. And the addition of new compartments specifically for Solo Players. Plus turrets that we can place or remove at will.
- Weapon and Turret Quality: We will have various qualities that impact the number of ammo slots and maneuverability as quality increases. As well as powerful and rare artifacts capable of turning the tide of battles, including orbital strikes, deflector shields, and many others.
- Sandstorms: Which will hit the entire Sophie, shrinking the play areas during the game session. The last chance for evacuation will be the giant Dreadnought ship, with potential for clashes or negotiations.
In addition, in co-op sessions, the loot will now be divided equally among players upon extraction. As the team confirms, these are just some of the many new features the team has added. With more news and information coming soon, ahead of the August Playtest.
