Nexon Issues Official Statement Regarding AI-Generated Streamers
Nexon responds to community backlash regarding AI-generated streamers posted on its official Tiktok account.
Earlier today, we reported that The First Descendant’s official TikTok account posted two videos featuring AI-generated streamers. Obviously, this didn’t go down well with the whole gaming community, especially the fact that the two “streamers” looked like they were based on real-life creators. The bad publicity was so immense that Nexon now has officially issued a statement regarding it.
Nexon Opens Investigation Regarding AI-Generated Streamer
Nexon is taking no responsibility yet with the posting of the ai-generated promo videos on Tiktok. In an official statement posted on the game’s X account, the South Korean video game publisher acknowledged that such videos were true but that they were from their TikTok Creative Challenge for creators which was part of their marketing campaign for Season 3.
Nexon stated that although all videos submitted underwent verification for copyright violations, the videos in question still contain inappropriate content. And with this, they have opened a joint investigation with Tiktok to “determine the facts”.

The video post and the ad have now been scrapped from The First Descendant Tiktok account. But the community is as skeptical as from the beginning with many questioning how on earth did they pass any kind of screening. Hopefully the damage doesn’t affect the game’s player base too much as it is actually a good game.
AI content is still widely snubbed so if any company is to make use of them, maybe do it better than this, at least.
