Need for Speed Payback Gets First Story Trailer

Ghost Games recently released a new trailer for Need for Speed Payback that gives players a glimpse into the game’s plot.

The trailer revealed a revenge story centered around “The Crew”. Tyler Morgan, the group’s leader, recently won a special car in a race. However, Lina Navarro stole the car for “The House”, a casino conglomerate that rules over Fortune Valley’s underworld.

Morgan then forms “The Crew” by recruiting fellow racers Jessica Miller and Sean McAlister. Together, they aim to get back at “The House” for everything they’ve done wrong.

Players will be cycling through all three mentioned racers throughout the game’s story while acquiring and customizing cars to fill up their garage.

Also, Speedlists will be returning from 2015’s Need for Speed. The mode pits players with others online in a set of predetermined events. Although not much has been changed in the mode, players will now get to vote on the next event. Players ranked near the bottom of a particular Speedlist will get more say in the voting to help them get back in the game.

Matchmaking will also be seeing some changes. Players now pick one road and one off-road car for Speedlists and are then pitted against players who chose cars with comparable performance. Ranked Speedlists will also be available for those who really want a competitive challenge.

Need for Speed Payback is set to release on November 10 for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
