Right after the global PS5 and PS4 launch of Death end re;Quest: Code Z, we now get news on the PC version. Dev team Compile Heart and publisher Idea Factory confirmed the spin-off is coming to Steam in 2025.
The release date is still TBA, but it’s expected much sooner than in the past. Many noted the 13 May 2025 release date featured in the recent Story Trailer, matching its PS5 and PS4 launch. Though devs already confirmed the PC version back on 22 April 2025.
Death end re;Quest: Code Z – Gameplay and Key Features
Code Z is a spin-off chapter in the Death End Request universe. A tactical RPG series mixed with Visual Novel storytelling. Expect a dark narrative with multiple Bad Endings. Code Z offers different gameplay but really leans into the gore and dark theme. Here’s what to expect:
- Roguelike Gameplay: A mystery dungeon roguelike adventure where you face randomly generated levels and danger around every corner.
- Conquer the Strain Area: Sayaka must explore the Strain Area to find a way out. Fight big bosses, plan ahead, and decide whether to run or fight.
- A New Story: Learn more about our new heroine Sayaka Hiwatari and the parallel world of World DE-1.5. It’s tough to know who’s friend or foe here.
This entry cranks up the gore compared to previous chapters, thanks to the return of Makoto Kedouin, the dark survival series writer behind Corpse Party. He’s been part of the series since the second game.
