Megabonk developer Vedinad has withdrawn from The Game Awards 2026 after being nominated for “Best Debut Indie Game,” because it’s not actually the mysterious dev’s first game.
Vedinad admitted that Megabonk‘s nomination for The Game Awards 2026 was an “honor and a dream” for the Best Debut Indie Game category, but revealed that the title was not the studio’s first game.
Confirming it was withdrawing from TGA on X, the developer told fans that it wouldn’t be fair to other nominees and that they should “vote for another one of the amazing debut titles.”

Adding to Vedinad’s mystery, Keighley also said the developer will “share more about his story when he’s ready,” but that he respects that “he didn’t want to take recognition away from other debut teams.”
