Epic Games is known not only for Fortnite but also for its weekly free games and aggressive sales. Right now, for example, you can get Nightingale for free, and the Epic Games Sale runs until October 9.

But how good are the prices in the Epic Sales really? That’s the question we asked ourselves, so we compared three well-known titles from the current sale with the prices on AllKeyShop. This way, you’ll see where you can actually save money.

Detroit Become Human – Epic Games vs AllKeyShop

The first game we’re comparing today is Detroit Become Human. This 2018 release takes you to the near future of 2038, where androids live almost equally alongside humans—until some start to rebel against their programmed rules. The game features many choices that influence the story and its endings, along with quicktime events, exploration scenes, and a gripping story focused on emotion. With its multiple endings, the game offers plenty of replayability.

In the Epic Sale, Detroit Become Human is currently €11.97, which is a 70% discount. Sounds decent, right? But on AllKeyShop, the game goes for just over €8. That’s a total discount of about 80%. It’s a Steam key, but that likely won’t bother most players.

The Alters – Fresh Release, Worth the Sale?

Next up is the relatively new game, The Alters, developed and published by 11 bit Studios in June 2025. You play as Jan, stranded on an alien planet. Alone, survival would be impossible, but thanks to a mysterious technology, he can create “Alters” – alternate versions of himself shaped by different life choices. You’ll need to build a base, manage resources, and use the unique skills of each Alter strategically. Like Frostpunk, the game mixes survival mechanics with an emotional story about identity, loneliness, and missed opportunities.

Since the game is still quite new, the Epic Games Sale only offers a 20% discount. So instead of €34.99, it’s now €27.99. But you can do better: on AllKeyShop, a Steam key for The Alters costs just €17.49—that’s basically half price.

Disney Dreamlight Valley – Life Simulation for All Ages

Finally, let’s talk about Disney Dreamlight Valley, developed and published by Gameloft. You move into an enchanted valley inhabited by Disney and Pixar characters. Your goal is to free the valley from a dark force. Think of it as a mix between Animal Crossing and The Sims. You’ll take on quests with familiar faces like Mickey Mouse, Elsa, Buzz Lightyear, or Scar, while designing your own house and village. The game lets you farm, fish, cook, and even craft items, with regular updates bringing new characters and events.

The game launched in 2023 and is currently €27.99 instead of €39.99 in the Epic Sale—a 30% discount. On AllKeyShop, however, you can grab it for just under €22, which is about 45% off.

Conclusion – Is the Epic Games Sale Really Worth It?

To sum it up, all of the games were available for cheaper through AllKeyShop. It didn’t matter whether the games were new or a bit older. So, in short: No, the Epic Games Sale isn’t really worth it, because AllKeyShop almost always offers the better deal. In most cases, you’ll receive a Steam key—but that’s something few players will mind.
