Death Stranding 2: On the Beach (DS2) is the highly anticipated new chapter of Kojima Production’s action-adventure series. An ambitious sequel that follows the courier Sam Porter Bridges, in what’s left of the United States after the cataclysm known as “Death Stranding”.
Continuing the exciting game world from visionary Hideo Kojima, with a sequel featuring a star-studded cast. Bringing a more ambitious project to the table, one that many can’t wait to try. With a release date still to be determined, but confirmed for 2025 as a PS5 exclusive.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach – Kojima Working on Something
It’s been over a year since the second trailer for Death Stranding 2: On the Beach. Revealed with the official announcement during the State of Play on January 31, 2025, and with a hefty gameplay showcase at TGS 2024. With a release date scheduled for 2025, many are eager for more concrete updates.
But it seems that there’s movement, particularly from Hideo Kojima himself. In a recent Twitter (X) post, he commented on returning to the editing desk after more than a year. A clear reference to the State of Play trailer. He also subtly hinted that a new trailer might be coming soon.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach – Possible Trailer at State of Play
This news could generally be taken with a pinch of salt. But Kojima himself talks about “air editing”, commenting on how he’s been searching for the right track for the editing. This news would certainly tie in with rumors about the State of Play.
A State of Play, which as we’ve already discussed, according to well-known insider NateTheHate2 is set to happen next week. With a date possibly falling on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 2025. Still unconfirmed by Playstation, but it could also announce the release date for DS2.
In Conclusion
So we’ll have to wait for the official confirmation by Playstation. Although February would mark the 5th consecutive year with the first State of Play of the year. And many are eagerly waiting to find out when Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will be released.
