With Blades of Fire, which serves as a spiritual successor, offering a fantasy world full of action where we can craft numerous weapons. Coming on May 22, 2025, to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. Blades of Fire – The Gameplay Reveal

After the reveal of Blades of Fire and the start of pre-orders, the MercurySteam team brings new news. On March 28, 2025, they released the first gameplay showcase, with 5 minutes of video showing the game in action.

A small preview of what awaits us in Blades of Fire. Playing as Aran de Lira, accompanied by young Adso, we get a demonstration of combat. It’s an action RPG gameplay where we can block enemy attacks but also have to pay attention to the durability of our weapons.

Blades of Fire: About the Gameplay and Expectations

In fact, one of the main mechanics of the game is weapon crafting. We’ll need to find the Forge Scrolls to create our weapons. There are over 30 Scrolls available, with various combinations for the ideal weapon for each playstyle. Facing more than 50 enemies, each with their own style, armor, and abilities.

A game that has certainly caught the interest of many, capturing for many what Severance Blade of Darkness offered. Although, from the gameplay showcase, many are not convinced by the animations. Still too stiff, despite the game looking solid in terms of graphics and gameplay. Also, the choice to release the game on PC only via Epic, most likely due to an exclusivity bonus.

In Conclusion

Blades of Fire is a game that shows a lot of potential, with an interesting plot and a crafting gameplay loop that could be fun. We’ll find out soon if this fantasy action RPG adventure will be a win for the MercurySteam team. What do you think of Blades of Fire? Let us know in the comments!
