Major Game Releases of the Week

The King is Watching

Launching this week, The King is Watching is a new roguelike city builder by Hypnohead, the developer of Save the Reactor. Rule with an ever-watching eye over your kingdom, ensuring your empire continues to expand and flourish, and every one of your people is doing their role. Shape your kingdom with every decision you make, expanding your farming, mining, and resources as you pay for defences, grow your armies, and slay your enemies. Every playthrough is unique, offering new events, unpredictable battles, and new challenges. Cast your gaze on your glorious kingdom and be unwavering in your determination.

Wildgate

PvP shooter Wildgate is a new fast-paced FPS featuring high-stakes spaceship battles in which players join crews to fight to be the one to escape with a mysterious artifact or to be the last ones standing. With high-tech cannons and powerful gadgets at your disposal, you’ll participate in ship-to-ship warfare in the Reach, a procedurally generated map that changes with every match. In this unexplored, unpredictable zone of space, hazards, treasure, and glory await.

Killing Floor 3

It’s finally here, Tripwire Interactive’s Killing Floor 3 hits PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC on July 24. This highly anticipated co-op zombie FPS drops players into Nightfall, a final defence against Horzine’s army of undead. In a desperate bid to reach the evil megacorp, you’ll fight relentless and terrifying zombie hordes using a variety of weapons, including handguns, rifles, shotguns, and swords, as you and your six-man team hack, slash, and shoot your way through dangerous locations in a bid to contain the spread of the outbreak. Oh, and the franchise’s signature M.E.A.T. system returns bigger than ever, with more dismemberment and blood spilling.

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers

Step into the late Ming Dynasty in the land of Shu in Wuchang: Fallen Feathers, a new visually breathtaking Soulslike from developer Leenzee. As a pirate warrior suffering from amnesia, players find themselves on a once-in-a-lifetime journey to uncover the truth behind the Feathering disease. Using the weapons at your disposal, you’ll enhance gear through enchantments, perfecting your playstyle as you cut your way through a rich story filled with chaos, death, and horrifying secrets.

Ascent of Ashes

The post-apocalyptic colony sim genre has a new game in Ascent of Ashes, a base-building strategy game that enters Early Access on July 25. Looking to set itself apart from its rivals, the game features deep tactical combat with detailed hit simulation and a rich health system that means non-lethal damage is capable of incapacitating. Leading a group of survivors, players must navigate a new, dangerous, and procedurally generated world where different areas will offer unique challenges and points of interest. Developed by Vivid Storm Interactive, the team behind the impressive RimWorld Combat Evolved mod, Ascent of Ashes is built from the ground up to support modding, which will hopefully see the game expand and grow for years to come.
