Shape of Dreams (SoD) is the action roguelike game from Lizard Smoothie and published by NEOWIZ. This game is the debut title from the South Korean development studio founded in January 2023. It delivers an action-packed experience in the roguelike style, merging hack & slash gameplay with that of a typical MOBA.

You’ll lead one of 8 heroes, either solo or in co-op, battling enemies across various levels in the world of dreams. The game was unveiled at the Global Indie Game Development Competition 2023, where it received an award. Confirming a 2025 launch followed by various builds and demo updates. Shape of Dreams – Launch Date and Time

Initially planned for launch in the first half of 2025, today marks the official launch of Shape of Dreams. The debut title from the South Korean team at Lizard Smoothie published by Neowiz. It offers a hack & slash roguelike with MOBA mechanics. The game launches exactly on:

• 10 September 2025 at 10:00 pm EDT / 7:00 pm PDT

• 11 September 2025 at 4:00 am CEST / 10:00 am CST

Shape of Dreams: Gameplay and Main Features

SoD by Lizard Smoothie is presented as a hack & slash experience that doesn’t hide its influences. Drawing from Roguelike experiences such as Risk of Rain and FTL: Faster Than Light. It also offers a MOBA style inspired by LoL and Heroes of the Storm, but with a less steep learning curve . Offering:

• 8 Heroes and 8 Worlds: A journey through 8 ethereal worlds filled with challenges, bosses, enemies, and secrets. Choose from 8 different heroes, each with their own playstyle and builds. Complete with synergies between the various heroes in co-op.

• Customization: SoD offers deep customization of your builds in true Roguelike fashion. Offering over 150 Memories and Essences to experiment with and create your favorite build.

• Challenge in Co-op or Solo: You can play either solo or in co-op with up to 3 friends. Select one of the 4 difficulty levels and a whopping 9 Lucid Dream modifiers for an even greater challenge.

This provides an overview of the new features in the full version. Expanding the game worlds from 3 in the demo to 8, with the addition of 3 new characters. But also the save function, and the ability to reconnect or join a game already in progress. This is also accompanied by a special interview with the team.
