Aquaplus is a Japanese publisher particularly active in the distribution of visual novels, with its renowned development team, Leaf. They’re responsible for some great classics like the ToHeart series, White Album as a Visual Novel, and also strategy hybrids like the Utawarerumono and Tears to Tiara series.
With the 2024 announcement from DMM Games and Shiravune for the PC port of Utawarerumono ZAN and Aquapazza: Aquaplus Dream Match. Zan is the first action RPG spin-off in the musou style for the series, and Aquapazza is a port of the arcade fighting game featuring Aquaplus franchises. Utawarerumono ZAN and Aquapazza: Aquaplus – Release Dates Confirmed
The Shiravune team finally brings news on Utawarerumono ZAN and Aquapazza: Aquaplus Dream Match. The two titles announced in 2024 with a localization for PC. As part of the ongoing localization of the famous titles from Aquaplus and Leaf. They have finally confirmed the release dates on Steam for the two spin-off titles, with:
- Utawarerumono ZAN on 23 October 2025
- Aquapazza: Aquaplus Dream Match on 22 September 2025
So, the localization team at DMM Games will be bringing the Musou-style Action RPG of Utawarerumono and the Aquaplus fighting game to us just one month apart. And 2025 has also seen the global launch, localized by Shiravune, of the all-ages 3D remake of ToHeart, as well as its recent DLC that adds the additional stories for Serio & Masashi.

What Aquapazza: Aquaplus Dream Match Offers
AQUAPAZZA is the arcade fighting game developed in collaboration between Aquaplus and the Arcana Heart team (known as Examu at the time). It offers a 2D fighting game featuring a crossover of various series from Leaf and Aquaplus. It notably includes a roster of 26 characters from the series:
- Comic Party
- Kizuato
- Routes
- Tears to Tiara
- ToHeart and Heart 2: Dungeon Travelers
- Utawarerumono
- White Album
Debuting on PC after more than 12 years of absence with its version 2.0. It offers a fighting game that features the classic system of Partner Assist and the special moves Splash Arts. In addition to the active mechanic of Active Emotion with 3 emotional states, which reflect on the gameplay with more damage, gauge refill, and also guarding.
What Utawarerumono ZAN Offers
Utawarerumono ZAN is an interesting action musou twist on the famous turn-based JRPG and Visual Novel series by Aquaplus. Born in 2018 as a Japanese exclusive on PS4 in collaboration with the Tamsoft team. Thus providing a hack & slash twist with a more condensed story from the second title, Mask of Deception, starring Haku.
He finds himself without memory in a strange world. Attacked by a huge insect, he is saved by Kuon. With an action twist that offers 12 playable characters with teams of 4. Customization of weapons and equipment and various playstyles. All with combos and special attacks to unleash. Debuting for the first time in the West and on PC.
