Survival Machine is an open-world survival crafting game that releases today. In the game, you build a moving machine as your base. With it, you travel through different biomes with various resources. You must prepare for the night, when zombies will come for you and try to eat you.

The game throws you into an apocalyptic mess. You can’t just build a base in one place—you have to stay on the move with your mobile fortress. This co-op survival game is made by the indie studio Grapes Pickers and is launching today on Steam. You need to build your base, alone or with up to 4 players, and defend it from the zombies.

Survival Machine Gameplay – Build, Fight, and Survive on Wheels

Embark on a journey in “Survival Machine” through colorful areas full of exciting challenges and varied puzzles. Around every corner, you’ll find treasure chests or other valuable rewards. There’s always something to search for and even more to discover. The further you go, the harder the platforming sections and combat arenas become—but the rewards get better too. With your glider and numerous ziplines, you can explore even the most terrifying terrains and hard-to-reach places.

At the heart of your adventure is your loyal machine. It’s a versatile vehicle that you can continually upgrade and customize. Thanks to its size, it can tackle even the toughest terrain. Still, you’ll often have to use your own skills to clear the path ahead.

The world is procedurally generated, so it never gets boring. On your journey, you’ll need to gather fuel to keep your machine running. You can also find blueprints to develop and craft upgrades. This, of course, improves your chances of survival. You can build new defensive systems and armor to prepare for the zombies that come at night. You can also freely build your own home the way you like it.

Prepare by Day, Fight by Night

To survive the night, you’ll need to prepare in advance. You can find rare resources and designs to improve your vehicle. These resources also let you upgrade your own gear and craft weapons or tools. You can also hire mercenaries or build specialized modules that give you a major advantage in battle. The more creatively you combine things and the more you experiment, the more unique items you’ll be able to craft.

You can also train during the day. Whether you prefer the bow, sword, or firearms—every weapon takes practice. It’s especially fun with a team, so grab some friends to play with. Together you’ll become a group of zombie hunters, ready to face the dangers ahead.

Because once the sun sets, it’s a full-on fight for survival. Zombies will attack your machine in waves. That’s when your preparation will be put to the test. Your defensive systems and traps will come in handy. So plan smart and fight bravely—only then can you survive the night, until a new day begins and the cycle starts over.

Availability and Demo

Survival Machine launches today, May 7, exclusively on PC via Steam. You can try the game’s demo for free. It will be available in Early Access at around 14:00 UTC and will receive further updates and improvements over time.
