Stray Children is the latest title and RPG adventure from the indie team Onion Games, a small Japanese development studio founded by Yoshiro Kimura in 2012. It includes some pretty well-known members of the Japanese video game scene. With Kimura himself known for the first two No More Heroes and primarily behind moon.
The game was initially announced in 2023 and debuted in Japan in 2024. On 6 June 2025, the arrival of the title was announced for the West by the end of 2025. Following the announcement on 6 June 2025 and the latest news in August, Onion Games has finally announced the release date for Stray Children. The team’s new RPG adventure, a mix of a fairytale story with a dark twist. The game will finally debut in the West on 30 October 2025 for PC and Nintendo Switch.
The team accompanied the announcement with a new dedicated Trailer. In it, a boy is mysteriously transported by an old console into a strange world. A world inhabited only by children, with grotesque and dangerous creatures roaming at night, the Olders. Using the power of words to fight and also save their souls.

The new RPG chapter from Onion Games thus pays strong homage to the classic experience of moon.
