The final Network Test for Starseeker is live this weekend, ahead of the June 11 Early Access launch
Key Takeaways
  • The final free Starseeker Network Test runs from June 5 to June 7 across PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch.
  • No prior registration or sign-up code is required; players can download the test client directly from their platform’s storefront.
  • All earned progress, reputation ranks, and unlocked Twitch Drop cosmetics will carry over to the Early Access launch on June 11.

Preparing for Early Access Launch

Developer System Era Softworks and publisher Devolver Digital have opened the airlocks for a final server stress test. Before the cooperative deep-space adventure enters Early Access next week, crews have one last opportunity to explore the planet Tephra.

This two-day event focuses heavily on server stability and back-end infrastructure of Starseeker: Astroneer Expeditions. By flooding the servers, the team aims to identify potential networking issues before the official release.

Players will board the ESS Starseeker social hub to group up, upgrade gear, and drop into volatile planetary zones. The experience emphasizes multiplayer cooperation, pivoting away from the solitary survival mechanics of the original Astroneer.

How Do You Join the Starseeker Network Test?

You can join the Network Test by searching for the “STARSEEKER: Astroneer Expeditions [Network Test]” application on your platform’s store and downloading it for free. The client is available on Steam, the Microsoft Store, PlayStation Store, and Nintendo eShop. No prior registration or sign-up code is required.

The servers opened at 8:00 AM PT on Friday, June 5, and will remain active until 8:00 AM PT on Sunday, June 7. Those who participated in the previous Open Beta will simply need to update their existing application.

According to the official developer update, cross-play and cross-progression are fully enabled across all supported hardware platforms.

Does Starseeker Network Test Progress Carry Over?

Yes, all account progress made during the Network Test will carry over directly into the Early Access launch on June 11. Players will retain their reputation ranks, mission completions, and cosmetic unlocks as long as they use the same linked account.

To prevent story spoilers, the development team has capped narrative progression. Missions are restricted to the Wetlands region, and crew member reputation is capped at Rank 7.

Logging in during this weekend will also grant players the exclusive Retro Suit. This cosmetic reward serves as a thank-you from System Era Softworks to the community for participating in the server stress tests.

Securing Exclusive Twitch Drop Cosmetics

Alongside the in-game progression, viewers on Twitch can earn account-linked cosmetics. By watching participating content creators, fans can complete their cosmetic set ahead of launch.

Rewards include the Twitchwalker Palette after one hour, the new Glitch Face Visor after two hours, and the Royal Treatment Hat after three hours of watch time. These drops are active until June 25.

Once claimed from the Twitch inventory, these items will be available immediately during the Network Test and will persist into the official release.
