Shadow of the Tomb Raider’s Latest Trailer Recaps Lara’s Story So Far

Have you been watching some of the Shadow of the Tomb Raider trailers and found yourself thinking, “Damn, this game looks like it’s gonna be great!” Then you remember that you haven’t played the first two games in the series, and you don’t really wanna go through all that just to play the third.

Well, Square Enix seems like they know just what you’re going through and they’ve got you covered. The publisher has just released a lengthy new trailer which actually recaps the most important events from Tomb Raider and Rise of the Tomb Raider. The idea seems like it wants to both remind those who played the first two games just what happened in them, and maybe put new players in a position where they can better relate to the third’s Lara Croft.

If you’re looking to discover just how Crystal Dynamics evolved Lara from a novice relic hunter to a full-fledged spelunker/cold-blooded killer, this trailer is definitely not the ideal way to do it. In Shadow of the Tomb Raider, you’ll be greeted by a Lara Croft who has been shipwrecked, loss her mentor, killed countless baddies, explored multiple tombs, but most importantly, found out her life before her adventures started was all a lie.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider launches on September 14th for PC, Xbox One and PS4.
