PEAK Now Has Pause Feature In The Latest Beta Update
PEAK has announced that the pause feature in offline mode is now available in the beta update 0.8.d.
Have we found this year’s Balatro? The way Peak is going, there is a big chance this indie game will be sweeping awards too. In less than a week from launch, 1 million copies were sold and just a month after, 5 million. Those numbers alone should tell you, you’re missing out if you’re not in yet. It’s a simple concept, executed nicely. And with regular updates, it keeps things fresh and feedback is addressed.

Peak has announced and released Beta update 0.8.d patch notes on its official Steam page. There are of course bug fixes like you don’t win when you die anymore, and some quality of life improvements like the chronological order of the Guidebook Scrolls. There’s also the reduce camera bobbing option which is one of the most talked about.
But the top feature everyone is asking for is the PAUSE. It may seem like a simple one which most games have but according to the dev in one of the Steam Discussions, it was due to the base game being designed for multiplayer, “HI! We might add checkpoints to the game, initially, due to the base game being multiplayer, it wasn’t added.”
Since then, the dev team have been making tweaks and while the latest update including the pause feature isn’t live in the game yet, it is on the beta branch. Also worth noting that it is only available in offline mode for now. So if you want that in the full game, check it out, provide feedback, and hopefully they deploy for the next game update.
To access the beta version of the game, visit the game’s Discord where the instructions will be provided. The team does not that since this is beta, you may experience some instability. But hey, it’ll be cool to finally go for the peak without having to sit through a full bladder.
