Netflix is Ending Support for Playstation 3 Next Month
Netflix if officially ending its support for Playstation 3. The app will no longer be available to use on the console starting March 2, 2026.
Who would have thought that Playstation 3 will still be able to snag a headline these days. Well thanks to Netflix, it did. After over 15 years, the streaming service is ending its support for the platform next month. Yes, just now.

It’s quite odd to be writing a news article for Playstation 3 but truth be told, there’s still plenty out there who use the console not just for gaming (still) but also to stream on Netflix.
Playstation 3 came out as the top of the line hardware in 2006 and three years after, introduced a native Netflix app for all PS users. By 2012, it was the streaming service’s number one platform, surpassing PC at times.
Of course as more powerful consoles and smart TVs flooded the market, PS3 took a backseat. In fact, many new gamers didn’t even think Netflix-PS3 was a thing, especially until now. But it is and there’s a good reason why too.

Remember when Netflix stopped password sharing and that people from outside your household could no longer use the same account? That didn’t happen with the PS3. Still, no ads and no location service, exactly why we used to love it.
There was no official statement regarding the end of support and why. The notice just popped up when opening the app saying, “Unfortunately, Netflix will no longer be available on this device after March 2, 2026.”
It could be that this is still part of the crackdown or simply that supporting a last-last-gen console isn’t economical for the company. Whatever it is, it’s an end of an era.
