NAMAKORIUM is the new real-time strategy title in development by the team at Polyscape Inc, the gaming division of the Japanese digital solutions company Polyscape.Io from Tokyo. They debuted in 2023 with the JRPG MISTROGUE: Mist and the Living Dungeons, which received mixed feedback. Praised for some interesting ideas but with little content.

The team returns this time with a more ambitious project, offering a true Real-Time Strategy game where we will lead the cute Namako to clean up the Oceans. NAMAKORIUM Announced: A Colorful Marine-Themed RTS

With an announcement on August 25, the Polyscape Inc team is back, unveiling their new project, NAMAKORIUM. It’s a real-time strategy game where you’ll lead sea cucumbers to clean the ocean of contamination. The team confirms the game will hit Early Access on Steam in January 2026.

The announcement was accompanied by the official trailer, which gives us a glimpse of the gameplay style. It features the classic formula of resource gathering, building, and command. You’ll have various types of Namako at your disposal, suited for different tasks. You can also play in co-op with up to 4 players. Wishlists are now open with the launch of the Steam page.

NAMAKORIUM: What Polyscape Inc’s New Game Offers

NAMAKORIUM presents itself as a true RTS with a major management component. You will lead your cute and trusty Namako to clean up contamination as part of your resource gathering. You’ll be able to build and “recruit” new types of Namako. Overall, it offers:

• Clean up the Oceans: Your goal is to clear the sea of contamination. This involves various tasks like resource gathering, building, and commanding the Tamako. All within a time limit, requiring careful planning before your Namako’s food runs out.

• Co-op and Multiplayer: You can play in 4-player co-op with your friends. But you can also join other players’ games through Random Matches.

• Creatures and Levels: With over 40 cute sea creatures that will adorn the various marine stages and are available to collect. There are 8 unique Stages where you can use the different types of Namako.

It also hides a not-so-subtle post-apocalyptic world. This is hinted at by the presence of the Blight Namako, corrupted sea cucumbers that damage your food and will re-contaminate the ocean. You’ll have to use the powerful Namako Cannon to wipe them out. The game also promises new stages and mechanics coming during its Early Access.
