Microsoft Boosts Xbox Game Pass Core Library With Fresh Games
Three new games will enter the Xbox Game Pass Core library on October 1. Enjoy online multiplayer with Core’s high-quality titles.
Alongside the wave 2 announcement for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, PC, and Standard lineup, Microsoft also revealed (finally!) that Core is also getting an upgrade.
While this base tier has definitely taken a back seat this year, it’s good to know it hasn’t totally been left out. Apart from getting three new games soon, it was recently announced too that members of the Insider Program who are subscribed to Core will be able to use Xbox Cloud Gaming on select PC titles. This feature, of course, is only applicable in areas where xCloud is supported.
New Games On Xbox Game Pass Core Library
The last update to Game Pass Core was in March when Batman Arkham Knight, Tunic, and Monster Sanctuary joined the library. Now, another batch of three games will be added to the catalogue on October 1:
- Cities: Skylines – Remastered – Step into the boots of the Dark Knight in this action-packed open-world adventure set in Gotham City.
- Disney Dreamlight Valley – A charming yet challenging isometric action RPG that follows a small fox on a grand adventure filled with secrets and puzzles.
- Warhammer 40,000: Darktide – A unique blend of Metroidvania exploration and turn-based monster battles, perfect for RPG fans.
With the remastered version of Cities Skyline set to join the Core library, it’s not known whether it will replace the original Cities Skylines which is already in the lineup, or be available alongside it. On top of that, Xbox Game Pass Core also scores its first Warhammer 40k game.
Considering how relatively cheap this tier is, it isn’t all that bad especially if you’re part of the Xbox Insider program.

There’s no fixed schedule for when the Game Pass Core catalog updates but it’s definitely taken longer this time. If this is any indication, more likely than not, the next one will already be for 2026.
