Hi-Fi RUSH Finally Ditches Denuvo; Update Before Jan 16 or Lose Access
Hi-Fi RUSH latest update removes Denuvo from the game. Players must install patch 10 by Jan 15 to continue playing.
Krafton and Tango Gameworks announced that its 2023 hit action game, Hi-Fi RUSH, is terminating its Denuvo support. The related patch is required to be installed by January 15, 2026 for continued access.
Hi-Fi RUSH Fall Update Scrapped for Anniversary Update Next Year
It took a while and even a publisher change for Hi-Fi RUSH to finally free itself from Denuvo. Announced yesterday on the game’s steam page, it will no longer have the infamous anti-tamper DRM software by January.
All gamers who wish to keep playing must download and install the latest patch by midnight Korea time to access the game. That translates to January 15, 2026 at 7AM PT / 10AM ET / 3PM GMT.
While it doesn’t change anything about the game itself, the internal system structure changed significantly and so the patch is required for continued access. Failure to do so will make the game unplayable by Jan 15th. Unless of course you have the auto-update enabled on Steam, then you should be fine.
Patch 10 is already out and available for players. Although Denuvo is out, the game still has its own anti-tampering features which will remain active. Apart from this removal, the patch also updates the publisher as Krafton plus a new Tango Gameworks logo in the splash screen. To reiterate, no playable content was affected.
Denuvo remains to be a controversial topic in the world of PC gaming. Many publishers still prefer having this at launch as it protects the game from piracy. On the flip side, some gamers purposely choose not to buy games with Denuvo as it allegedly affects performance and storage.
Since both raise valid points, it’s good to know that somehow there is a compromise as many publishers terminate Denuvo from a game after a year or so.
