Uncover the Truth: The March 20 Update

Arrowhead Game Studios is finally pulling back the curtain. For the first time since launch, we have a clear view of the galactic meat grinder ahead of us.

The newly revealed roadmap for Helldivers 2 kicks into high gear with version 6.1—dubbed Uncover the Truth—dropping on March 20.

We are getting a fresh, terrifying look at the Illuminate threat. According to the devs, they are utilizing devastating storms to cover their tracks across entire planets.

Expect a brand-new mission type and a massive bipedal Illuminate walker. If you thought the recent Cyborg reinforcements were tough, these advanced alien forces will seriously test your squad’s coordination.

You will also get your hands on the Entrenched Division Warbond. This World War I-inspired gear drop lands just in time to dig in and hold the line against the latest menace.


April and June: Terminids and Unknown Horizons

Once we secure the immediate March objectives, Arrowhead is shifting our focus back to the bugs. Update 6.2 arrives in April and brings the fight straight to the Terminids. We are getting two entirely new biomes to explore—or die in—and a mysterious new bug variant.

This April drop will also include another Warbond, plus the usual slate of weapon balancing and desperately needed bug fixes.

Looking further out, version 6.3 hits in June. Arrowhead is keeping the exact details locked down, declining to name a specific enemy faction for this wave.

We do know June will feature one new biome and another Warbond. The developers teased that even greater operations are already in motion beyond these summer drops.

A Staggering Toll: The Galactic War So Far

We need these reinforcements. The sheer scale of the ongoing war is staggering, and Arrowhead recently dropped some grim statistics to prove it. In the second year of Helldivers 2 alone, 8.6 billion Helldivers have been wiped out.

Friendly fire remains a classic hazard on the frontlines, claiming 177 million of those casualties. Watch where you throw those orbital strikes. We gave better than we got, though. The community has slaughtered over 280 billion enemies across all three hostile factions.

With the Illuminates stepping up their game on March 20, those numbers are about to skyrocket. Time to drop back in.
