What Are the PC System Requirements for Gears of War: E-Day?
The PC system requirements for Gears of War: E-Day demand a minimum of 12 GB of RAM, 130 GB of mandatory SSD storage, and an NVIDIA RTX 5050 or AMD RX 6600. The Coalition recommends upgrading to an NVIDIA RTX 5060 or AMD RX 6700 XT with 16 GB of RAM for superior performance.
According to the official listing on Steam, the specifications target modern hardware configurations to handle the game’s advanced rendering techniques. Older graphics cards lacking DirectX 12 Ultimate support will likely struggle to maintain stable frame rates.

Consideration on the PC System Requirements
From what has The Coalition shared so far about the System Requirements, Gears of War: E-Day is definitely leveraging UE5 main features. With requirements that not only exclude older architectures, but also put as the minimum Ray Tracing capable cards. In particular the RTX 2060 6 GB as the bare minimum, despite being the slowest card in the group.
While the Recommended mirrors most of the UE5 recommended specs without going too extreme. Which should also match closely the Xbox Series X performance. Remains to be seen how the title is going to run on the Series S. As well as the handhelds, in particular the base Xbox Rog Ally.
Most likely Xbox will share further details about the System requirements with target framerate, resolutions, and settings as we get closer to the release date in October.

Rebuilding the Origin Story With Unreal Engine 5
The Coalition is abandoning old assets entirely to rebuild the franchise’s origin story from the ground up. This technical leap leverages Unreal Engine 5 to recreate the brutal atmosphere that defined the initial 2006 release.
A core component of this visual upgrade is Epic Games’ new MegaLights system. This lighting technology enhances the game’s horror-adjacent tone, generating high-contrast environments and dynamic shadows perfectly suited for close-quarters combat against the Locust Horde.
Set fourteen years before the events of the original title, the narrative follows young veterans Marcus Fenix and Dom Santiago in Kalona. The story unfolds as the city is unexpectedly torn apart by the subterranean emergence alongside new Bravo Squad members.
Gears of War: E-Day launches on October 6, 2026, for PC and Xbox Series X|S. As with all first-party Microsoft releases, it will be available on Game Pass Ultimate on day one.
