Frostpunk 2 is the highly anticipated sequel to the critically acclaimed city-survival game Frostpunk. It is set 30 years after the great blizzard of the first game that plunged the world into a frozen wasteland.
After surviving the icy winds, the struggle to build a new society amidst the frozen land is the next hurdle. Dividing factions, different goals, and human’s need for control will emerge. As Steward, you will face rising social tensions, political intrigue, and the ever-present question of what it means to be human in such a harsh world.
The core city-building and resource management mechanics of the original Frostpunk return but with even more depth and complexity. You will make difficult choices about how to manage resources and expand the city.
New mechanics are also introduced like diplomacy and trade which offer new ways to interact with other societies.
The game promises to be an even more challenging and complex experience with new threats and moral dilemmas to navigate.
The Frostpunk 2 Gameplay Trailer dropped on January 16, 2024 and has made waves across the gaming world until now.
The devs found some comments weird but it probably hit the bullseye of what they set out to do when they released it. The fact that it made people feel eerily interested for all sorts of reasons, makes you interested as well!

Whether you follow the series or not, you gotta hand it to the gameplay trailer. It does make you want to try the game out! Some might say, it’s even timely.
11 Bit Studios is tight-lipped on Frostpunk 2 release date. When the teaser came out in November last year, the 2024 year was set. Now that the gameplay trailer is out, the studio confirmed that the game will launch for PC in the first half of 2024.
First month of 2024 is coming to an end so if the timeline serves us right, we should be getting the Frostpunk 2 release date very soon!
As of writing, no preorder listings are confirmed for Frostpunk 2. Both the official X account and website only mention Wishlist.
But we’re keeping an eye out for it! So stay tuned for an immediate update on this.
There are no Frostpunk 2 demos available for the public but the game is confirmed to join Game Pass PC upon release. So everyone who has an active subscription on launch day can play Frostpunk 2 for free!
As for Game Pass Console, the game is also confirmed to enter the service the same time it releases for Xbox Series X|S. According to 11Bit Studios’ official website, it will be “later with Xbox Game Pass” as the game will first release on PC only.
