Frostpunk 2: Game-Changing Mechanics You NEED to Know About

After the huge success of Frostpunk, the strategic city builder and survival game from 2018, 11 bit studios surprised everyone in August 2021 by announcing they were working on the sequel, Frostpunk 2. And just in these last few days, it seems that 11 bit studios has made progress, so much so that they announced the Beta access for this highly anticipated sequel.

Frostpunk 2: New Features Incoming and the Start of the Beta

Set 30 years after the events of the first Frostpunk, we will return to New London and explore the consequences of the events of the first game, especially the advent of the oil industry and the great storm, in the shoes of the new Steward of the city. Frostpunk 2 will allow for a much more free and larger city construction, thanks to the introduction of Districts which will allow the construction of certain buildings but at the cost of significant resources. The political system is also being revamped, and citizens will be more involved in political plots. In fact, we will have 100 Council members representing various factions, and they must be convinced by our Ideas to ensure our majority in the voting system.

The time system will also change, now measured in Years and Months, which combined with the faction system, will see the emergence of radical thoughts and movements that could affect the balance and throw the city into chaos if not addressed immediately by the players. For those eager to get their hands on Frostpunk 2, it is already possible to participate in the beta. Starting from 15th April 2024, until 22 April 2024, owners of the Deluxe Edition can participate in this first Beta session.
