While there were already a few showcases that kicked off the month, the first major one just concluded a few hours ago with PlayStation State of Play delivering plenty of news on upcoming games, release date announcements, and even a demo drop.

 

Playstation State of Play June 2026 Recap

The big ticket of the event, Marvel’s Wolverine, opened the broadcast and demanded the stage with a 7-minute gameplay trailer which was nothing short of extreme violence and blood.

There were more expected news that were revealed like Onimusha: Way of the Sword finally receiving its release date after details leaked ahead of the event and Silent Hill: Townfall which made its expected appearance following the ESRB rating that surfaced prior to the broadcast.

Another major title, Control Resonant, also locked in its launch date after months of speculation. Come to think of it, these four are all releasing in September so if I were you, I’ll be saving up and maybe get that extra summer job this season.

Dune: Awakening and Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis also got their spotlight but it was the new God of War title which probably brought the bacon home. God of War: Laufey closed out the presentation with a 20-min preview and immediately became one of the most talked-about reveals of the night.

Some Playstation Plus news also graced the broadcast, announcing three games to join Premium’s Classic Catalog. Gitaroo Man, Psi-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy, and Onimusha: Dawn of Dreams will join the library in the next three months.

All in all, watching the 1-hour broadcast was time well spent and is a proper start to the string of major presentations this week. E3 may be gone but the feeling is definitely there.
