Content Warning is the latest indie game to hit viral status on Steam since its release on April 1, recording 1 millions sales, despite being free to download for the first day of its launch.
The survival horror for 2-4 players released on Steam for free before being priced at €7.79 after its first 24 hours. Making the game free for one day has seemed to do the game an incredible amount of good as it’s seen an all-time peak of 157,776 concurrent players on Valve’s platform set on April 10, with a daily peak of nearly 30,000 players.
Announcing the landmark sales milestone on X, publisher Landfall Games said, “Content Warning has now sold 1M copies on top of the 6.6M players that got the game for free!”
