About this game

Unpacking is a game about the common experience of unpacking boxes of belongings and setting them up in a new place. You are encouraged to design a comfortable home while learning hints about the life you’re unpacking. The game is a combination of block-fitting puzzle and home décor.

• Unpack everything from a single bedroom to a whole house.
• There are no timers, meters, or scores in this meditative game.
• While stacking plates, hanging towels, and arranging bookshelves, you can explore domestic environments with all of their nooks and crannies.
• Explore a character’s backstory by looking at the items she brings with her to each new home (and the items that get left behind)

But, like I’ve said, those nifty puzzles are just the jumping-off point for what makes this such a remarkable, memorable experience. A clever game of unloading boxes would have been enough to make Unpacking worth playing, but it’s the way it weaves its beautiful story through those puzzles that makes it truly sublime.
